I've spoken in the past about Thundercats/Silverhawks/Timespirits creator Steve Perry here and here.

This morning I'd intended to write about the Comics Expo I attended. Instead I'm once again writing about Steve. Because all evidence is pointing towards Steve being brutally murdered.

I'm kinda numb about the whole thing. My contact with Steve was limited - a few emails exchanged, a little money sent to help his desperate situation, a post to Noscans_Daily to draw attention to his circumstances. But I still can't quite take this in.

I don't want to dwell on the gory details of the case or speculate on anything. Rather, point to Steve Bissette's posts about his friend here and here, where he pays tribute without whitewashing.

After a weekend talking about work-for-hire and creator-owned comics work and chatting to creators, it brings it all that much closer to home.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Steve's friends and his son Leo.
