Who IS that fat bastard?

So, my aim was to get down to 175lb.

I'm down to 174lb.

I'm aiming to lose a little more before I go on holiday in September (two weeks in Spain. Woot!) It would be nice to get down to 12 stone (168lb) but that may be a little optimistic as my weight loss has slowed up in the last few weeks as I've lost a little of my motivation once I got down near my target weight (and there was beer to be had).

I've also been spending on clothes, a little by necessity (some of my clothes are now too big, although my waist size hasn't really changed) but mostly by just wanting to have nice new clothes. I've taken to wearing a shirt and tie to work instead of just rolling in in whatever's top of the clean pile at home. It's nice to look smarter, feel healthier, look thinner and generally put a bit of polish on my appearance. I'm not vain, as anyone who's, y'know, seen any pictures of me looking like a right scruffy git knows, but I'm pleased to be where I am now.

And people are noticing. I've seen a lot of people I've not seen in a couple of months (or even years) over the last few weeks and practically everyone's commented on my weight loss. Apparently 20lb makes a big difference. On me a few lb really shows.

It'll probably all pile on again, as the pattern goes, but for now, less of a fat bastard.

I love this movie so very much...

I haven't seen it for ages though. I've drawing a blank whether I even have it on DVD. I need to check.

But Alec Guiness at the top of his game. What a shame for people who only know him from Star Wars. Possibly the finest British actor of any generation.
