Let's make things clear. I don't hate Halloween. I just think it's an American holiday and attempts to commercialise it in this country are crass, annoying and should lead to throwing small children out of tower blocks. I shall be celebrating as any self respecting Englishman should - hiding indoors from all the ghosties and ghoulies and long-legged beasties and things that go bump in the night. It's not a holiday to be celebrated. It's a holiday to be feared.
That an entire nation missed the point of this is doesn't bother me, I just don't think we should follow suit.
