X-Force backissues - Couple of really good issues in the first storyarc which is all I've read so far. Wisdom is undoubtedly a cool character. I feel an app coming on before too long...

Spectacular Spiderman 6 - Not bad actually. Peter Parker's life takes a mild turn for the better. Which of course means something horrible is bad to happen. Great fun artwork, and the new design for Doc Oc looks great.

Kingpin 6 - The doublecrossing continues, more murder and mayhem as Wilson Fisk moves in on the mob. But someone, please, tell the writer SPIDERMAN DOESN'T BELONG HERE! Thank you.

Transformers Armada 17 - Above average but not especially memorable. Unicron using Spinister's body to talk to Prime was a nice touch, but most other stuff just screamed plot device. Seems tragic to bring in classic characters like Galvatron, Thunderwing, Scourge and Bludgeon and then criminally underuse them.

Transfomers - War Within 2 - Disappointing after the last sublime issue. Probably because there was little or no Grimlock or Starscream in this issue. More I say! More! But as a plot setter it worked okay.

Ultimate X-men 39 - Brian Michael Bendis does average. Disappointing. I haven't been enamoured at all with his first X-men storyarc, this type of story obviously isn't his strengh. One plus point - Nightcrawler on the cover and... Nightcrawler in the story! Wow. Given the way the X books have been going recently this makes a nice change. (Come to think of it, Uncanny also had a nice pic of Paige on the front cover but no sign of her inside. hrm.)

1602 4 - Not bad actually, things finally starting to happen, although the main problem I have with this book is that so many characters are used none of them realy has any chance for their personalities to come across (You could probably argue that being all famous Marvel characters I should know them all already, but I don't really.) So what you have is a character based book without a lot of character and very little action either. Quite slow. But still interesting... although quite why Neil Gaiman decided to have dinosaurs everywhere is beyond me. Because the Elizabethan age wasn't exotic enough without adding dinosaurs? Riiiiight. Actually, reminds me of the sort of throw away concept that Grant Morrison uses all the time. Neil Gaiman probably should be writing New X-men then...

Ultimate Six 4 - Okayish, not particularly memorable, although better than Bendis' X-men. My only problem is that the villains seem to veer a little too quickly from Macheovelian villiany to out and out insanity just a little too quickly. Nice art though. Sack Brian Hitch, get this guy doing Ultimates instead. Might actually get more than an issue a year then. (Yeah, bee in my bonnet over that one.)

Still have to read the other comics....
