Okay, I'm officially turning into Rip Van Winkle. (Emphasis on the Winkle, obviously.) Saturday night, after helping my sister move into her new flat and assembling furniture and so on, I ended up taking a nap about 8.00 for a couple of hours. Well, that was the plan. Actually I didn't wake up tol 11.30 the next morning. -Then- at 6.30 I was tired again so I went and slept for a couple of hours. Woke up grumpy and still half asleep and didn't really wake up at all before I went back to bed at 10.30.

Deadline week really does knacker me out completely.

Brian Michael Bendis' Total Sell Out

Utterly brilliant, if a little hit and miss, collection of Brian Michael Bendis (Ultimate Spiderman/X-men, Daredevil, Powers, etc etc etc) stuff. Yep, stuff. Lots of odd pages of comic art, minor scripts for his own enjoyment, his weekly strip for the local newspaper. A feast of mixed and muddled examples of just why Brian Bendis is just so goddam cool.

Electric Six - Fire

Debut album I assume and completely nuts. Sounding like a bastard offspring of Rocky Horror, Freddie Mercury and The Damned, this is camp punk rock at its best and weirdest. (Anyone see the video for 'Danger! High Voltage!' with the upper class Brits with flashing crotches? No? Best video ever made possibly). Some hysterical and hummable stuff here including the aforementioned 'Danger! High Voltage!', 'Nuclear War (On the Dance Floor)', 'Vengeance and Fashion', 'I Invented the Night' and the really really annoyingly catchy 'Gay Bar'. (I've got something to put in you! At the Gay bar, gay bar, gay bar! You're a superstar, at the gay bar!)
