News from all over

John Barrowman was on the Chris Moyles show as I was driving to work this morning. All very funny stuff until Chris Eccleston's name came up. When he turned into quite the arch bitch about him. So expect that in the gossip rags. Doctor Who's quite the big business over here. What he said was "He was too gloomy and angsty. Enjoy your work!" What his voice said was "I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire."
Feh.
EDIT: Although, apparently this isn't the first time he's not exactly been flattering about Chris: Link. I get the impression Barrowman's not always a joy to be around himself and it's far from the first time he's been rather snide about others.
In other geek news the producer of X-men: First Class has confirmed that the movie will deal with the original X-men (Beast, Cylops, Jean Grey) in their younger years. I guess Iceman and Angel are out, if they're using the movieverse continuity and not rebooting (since Wolverine didn't, I don't know why this movie would), I assume we'll see Storm as one of the originals instead.
In other news, I dislike the current direction of the Spider-man comics, (Peter Parker's a lovable loser! He's a man child living in his aunt's basement! Curse that Parker luck!) but I must admit that making J. Jonah Jameson Mayor of New York in the Marvel universe is a great idea. But like a lot of great ideas at Marvel at the moment, I suspect what it'll lack is great execution. But it's a story in the hands of Mark Waid, so there's hope. But if he spends all his time fretting about Spider-man and none trying to bring down Norman Osborn, it will be plenus of deficio.
Filmdrunk on Twilight candy.
And while we're on Filmdrunk, Woody Allen sues American Apparel for damaging his reputation by using an image of him without permission. American Apparel's defense? Pretty damn epic.
And mocking Michael Bay? Done a lot. But still funny. Thundercats ho!
