Yeah, I hate to sound shallow, but after seeing this promo image for Dollhouse, I'm starting to see a certain... ah... attraction in Whedon's new series.

Hubbah.

On a not unrelated note, I've finished season 13 of ER and had to find a new obsession, so that meant picking up with Season 3 of Buffy where I left off a couple of months ago. The Homecoming Queen episode.

Boy, it's been years since I saw this stuff. I think there are a bunch of Buffy episodes I've only ever watched once and this must be one of them.

And I must have blanked it out at the time, but...

By god, Faith really was gay for Buffy wasn't she? It's not even subtext, it's in-your-face-text.

After about the third reference to Faith wanting to go somewhere and get "hot and sweaty" with Buffy I was starting to wonder just how innocent I was back then to have let it slide past.

On the other end of the spectrum, it's also an episode that highlights that Whedon's "Willow is gay. Willow has always been gay" stance rings desperately hollow in pre-Season 4.

Season 3 is actually what got me into Buffy. I was working for a TV station at the time, which aired it, but Faith being OMG so gay for Buffy is what got my attention.

I think there were small hints before S4 about Willow, but only the kind that people looking for such (fanfic people mostly) would see.
