Personally, I'd have marked him down for using an exclamation mark. 'Fuck off' is emphatic in its own right, and needs only a full stop.

Also, trying to row to Sweden from Helsingor isn't that dumb, if you're not drunk and 78. It's probably the closest point, and I could row four kilometres (on a rowing machine) when I was a weedy 13-year-old.
