Warren Ellis is taking over from Joss Whedon on Astonishing X-men?

This means a writer who actually GETS Kitty and isn't solely interested in fulfilling his teenage sexual fantasies by shagging her through a proxy character and isn't interested in keeping her in a state of emotional and relationship arrested development?

Gets my vote.

Oh, like Ellis wasn't shagging Kitty with a proxy character with his mandatory 'I smoke too much and am cynical' character. ;)

Nah, Wisdom's a standard Ellis character (based on Reagan from The Sweeney), but the relationship read more as an attempt to make Kitty an adult, NOT wish fulfillment from where he was a child, read X-men and had a crush on Kitty Pryde and wanted to sex her up, which Joss' certainly is.
