Third night, and done...

Ugh, hangover.
So, last night of the play last night and best of the run technically. Pretty much everything went off without a hitch last night, thankfully. However, it's still disappointing there were a couple of nights that weren't there. I guess when you work so hard on something, particularly in the actors' case, you want perfection. I know how it is. If you stumble over a line or something, it feels like the end of the world. To have technical problems out of your control can cast a shadow over all the work you've done over months of rehersal. It takes weeks to prepare for a show and it can be ruined in seconds by someone not being professional.
Anyhow...
It was a good night, the actors were pretty smooth again and the performances have been brilliant in this play. I must admit, it's been a pleasure just to watch. Great material and great performances by everyone. So sad that a pretty bloody perfect play's been marred by technical problems. It keeps coming back to that.
Anyway, a decent house for last night. A sudden jump up to 120 people in the audience - much healthier and over the three nights that's an improvement on the last show. Could have been better but it's been a lot worse. (And better admittedly, but it's average).
The after show party was good but I spent a lot of my time trying to keep the peace between the tech guys and the actors. Very difficult and led to me punishing the port quite badly and I ended up getting steaming drunk. Very ill now and I have no one to blame but myself.
I cried off helping with the get out this morning since I'd done so much work earlier in the week and with deadline next week I REALLY need to get some work done. If I didn't feel like death I would have started already.
Anyway, all over now and straight into deadline which is gonna be even more horrific this month as we need to strip out the office on Friday for some refurbishment. So, everything has to be wrapped up by Thursday night. Ouch.
