List your six favorite TV shows. If you're doing this meme, jot down our list before reading the questions behind the cut:
1. Dr. Who
2. ER
3. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
4. Teachers
5. Northern Exposure
6. Phoenix Nights
1. Who is your favorite character from #2?
Tough one. All the characters have had moments where I've loved them and others where I haven't liked them much at all. Weirdly, my absolute favourite was probably Dr. David Morgenstern, played by William H. Macy who was just so bumblingly likable.
2. Who is your least favorite character from #4?
Probably Matt, who's a smug git and really doesn't have anything else in the way of personality going for him.
3. What would a crossover between #1 and #5 include?
That would be... odd. Probably the Doctor would arrive in Alaska to find Cicely under threat from an army of irradiated alien moose.
4. Who is your favorite relationship from #6?
I think Brian and Jerry "The Saint"'s. It's so much more interestingly twisted and manipulative than Max and Paddy's friendship. I think there's a genuine warmth there, which is why the comedy works, but it's hidden under a sea of semi-abuse.
5. If you were to set one person from #3 and one person from #6 on a blind date, who would they be?
Er.. Paddy and Anya. They'd actually stand a chance of getting along.
6. If you could meet one person from #4 and spend the day with them, who would it be, and what would you do?
Argh, only one? Well, Penny would mean guaranteed sex, but I'd wanna go drinking with Kurt and Brian. In the end I'd have to settle for Kurt, because scarily I think we'd have more in common.
7. If you could change one thing about #2's plotline, what would you change?
Hard one. I think I would have kept Benton and Corday's relationship going. I really liked them together and never understood why race was an issue and why they scrapped the relationship because people found it controversial. I don't even know why people did.
8. Explain a relationship between two people (not necessarily romantic) from show #5, and why you like the relationship between them.
I adore the relationship between Joel and Marilyn, where Joel is just on the edge of exhasperation continuously and Marilyn is the picture of serenity. It's a heart attack waiting to happen.
9. If the lead title characters (first name in the credits) from #1and #3 were both drowning, and you could only save one, who would it be?
That's a tricky one. Don't save the Doctor and there'll be another one along in a minute. Don't save the Slayer and there'll be another one along in a minute. I'd probably go for Buffy. The Doctor would get over it soon enough, while Buffy would be actually dead and while she's vaguely irritating occasionally, she does save the world quite a lot.
10. If you could change the title characters' order in the credits for #4, what order would you choose?
Impossible mostly because over four series, lots of characters left and the credits DID change. However, I'd always put Brian and Kurt first I guess. They owned that series.
11. If you were able to add a new character, any kind of character you wanted, to the storyline for #6, what would the character be like and what would their role be?
Not new character exactly, but new to the series. I'd add the bingo caller from Peter Kay's other series which Phoenix Nights sprung out of. There's plenty of comedy potential in old women sleeping with him to win prizes.
12. What happens in your favorite episode of show #2?
Jerry the desk clerk accidently fires a grenade the entire length of the ER and blows up an ambulance.
13. If you could kill off one of the characters of #1, who would it be and how would you do it?
Eeh, it would probably be Jackie. I'd do it in a convoluted way, however, and have Rose alter the past again so Jackie died but her dad lived and see what differences that made to her life.
14. If you got the chance to visit the set for either show #3 or show #5, which would you choose?
That's a bugger. If by set you mean setting, which would be Alaska, I'd choose that, probably. I think the scenery shown in Northern Exposure is stunning. However, if it's just interior shots, I'd go with Buffy.
15. If you could date anyone from any of these shows, which show and which person?
Willow from Buffy. She's not gay. I'm in total denial about that. She's about the only circumstance ever where I think a girl going gay was a really bad idea. It just didn't suit her at all.
