Caffiene IV please...

Was our work Christmas party last night and was very enjoyable. After a brief sojorn for a beer we went to the West Beach restaurant, right on the seafront in Bournemouth. Too dark to see much of the sea, but nevermind. The food was exceptional - washed down with a very pleasant Merlot.
For starters I had Tian of Crab, Avocado and Mascarpone, which was practically a meal in itself. Followed by Pavé Rump of Scottish Beef on a wild mushroom and artichoke tart, with spinach and celeriac purée and red wine jus. It was divine - the steak cooked to perfection and melt in the mouth texture. Finally cheese and biscuits, which in retrospect I would have swapped for something sweeter - even with my savoury tooth it was a little much. A nice selection of cheeses though, so I can't complain.
Then coffee, amaretto and a stroll along the beach. I resisted the temptation to go on with others to the gay club we often end up in as I'd reached my limit and was feeling pleasantly mellow. After I'd got home the wine began to kick in a little harder, so I think I made the right decision.
Still feel the alcohol sloshing around this morning. Nothing worse than still being drunk from the night before...
Luckily a couple of people had the same idea and brought in mince pies to soak up the alcohol.
I'm a little piggy.
