I'm pathetically happy about this...

Following on from Arcee's removal from the script (which, sorry, I still consider good news. Introducing the concept of giant, transforming robots from another planet is gonna be hard enough without cluttering it with the robot equivilent of Martha Stewart crossed with Barbara Cartland), there's more good news from the Transformers production team.
This time it was the turn of Line Producer (he's the guy who sorts out budgets, crew, locations, all the backstage stuff) Ian Bryce (Spider-Man, Saving Private Ryan, Speed, Twister, Batman Returns, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Who Framed Roger Rabbit? etc) to hop on board to fill in some details:
"Hello all.... lots of design and location scouting going on at present....exploring locations all over U.S. (and elsewhere)....many cool designs already....Bay very excited....
Design team includes Jeff Mann (Terminator 3) and many great illustrators who have worked on many big studio films.....also have full location staff and starting set designs.....ILM (Lucas' visual effects house) also working with us on elements of the robot designs.....things moving forward.....working on budget.....hiring will accelerate in January....aiming for summer filming.....may film one sequence early (April)....
Casting will not begin in earnest until mid January although we have preliminary ideas for several of the main characters.....can't elaborate further but totally hear the note from earlier about big names versus "newer" names....
I have seen the recurrent note of fans preferring the voices to be from original cast.....I started raising this note with the studio yesterday....will be sure to make sure Bay and studios are well aware of the importance of this sentiment..."
So that's:
ILM doing special effects.
A big push for original voice actors, particularly in the case of Prime and Megatron.
"Re:designs - they are COOL...."
Casting in January.
Filming starting around Easter.
I was so excited about the voice actors thing and started running around the room doing the Snoopy dance again.
I'm such a dweeb.

Hmmmm... Voice acting.
Wonder if they're going for big names or people that work.
People keep telling me I should go into voice acting.
