"NEWSFLASH! In a rather interesting "What if?", X2 screenwriter Dan Harris revealed that Sigourney Weaver was nearly written into X-Men 3 as Emma Frost, The Canadian Press reports. Harris recently moved to the production of Superman with director Bryan Singer and is no longer attached to X3, but he said, "We were going to do X-Men 3 for a little while and our big secret or coup was - and it's not going to happen so it's ok - we wanted to have a character that was Emma Frost..." Harris added, "We were going to ask Sigourney to be it. She was an empath in our version of the movie which means she could control people's emotions." Harris revealed the information at a press conference to promote his Toronto International Film Festival entry, Imaginary Heroes, which he wrote, made his directorial debut on, and which stars Sigourney Weaver. Weaver, also at the press conference, looked surprised at the thought, and joked to Harris, "Write it into Superman."
Sigourney Weaver? Sigourney frickin' Weaver?! EMMA FROST IS NOT A FIFTY FIVE YEAR OLD BRUNETTE! JESUS WEPT!
What a horrible horrible idea. Some of the casting for the X films has been crazy but that's now totally slipped into the realms of the totaly fricking insane goddamit!
Weedon, I'm counting on you. :)
