Apr. 15th, 2004 11:44 pmWell the play is over, done and dusted Another 2 nights to go.
How did it go? Well, had my sisters in the audicence and they seemed to think it was pretty good. From my point of view I was actually really pleased. My first scene was a little bit of a balls up, not from my point of view, but that I didn't get a cue line I should have, so there was a bit of a pause until it got remembered. Not noticable from the audience, apparently, and so not really too worried.
In other news, the line I always forget caused me problems. I saw it looming and when it arrived I had, as usual, completely forgotten it, but it popped in before a prompt was needed. Again it was apparently totally unnoticable from the audience.
No nerves at all tonight actually and I had fun. Really let rip in a couple of my scenes, as did everyone else apparently. Everyone sounded really good and everyone seemed to be pretty on the ball. Apparently I scared a couple of the audience, according to the comments I got afterwards, and my sisters wanted to know quite how I managed to get so angry on stage.
Good question.
House was... well, by our standards not bad for a first night. An audience of 125 people, which means the theatre was about half to three quarters full. Not exactly packed, but considering the last play was 50 people on the first night I don't really feel too unhappy with that. And they were a -very- responsive audience. Thoughtful and quiet during the thoughful bits and laughing at the funny lines. from a performers point of view I was actually really pleased by the audience.
My only worry was the 'bed' scene and although I really wish I weighed 2 stone less I didn't get too worried about it and just got on with it. No-one seemed too disgusted.
Here's hoping the other nights o as smoothly.
