Lots of stuff...

So, lotsa stuff been going on recently and I haven't really found the time to update my journal to any degree. Guess the most time consuming thing was deadline. Another difficult one, but I think the fact I had that run in with my boss made him realise just how much stress I'm under. He was a lot more understanding the rest of the week and keen for me to farm work out to our freelance designer. That's something new.
Anyway, still not really recovered from that yet. Usually it takes me a few days but I'm normally more up together by now. Probably hasn't helped that I had to go into work on Monday and actually work pretty hard on a brochure that had been promised by one of our sales agents to a client. Bastard.
Still staying at my sister's until they get back on Saturday. The one thing that was easier about deadline week this month was the travelling. Compared to the usual hour or so drive I have back home at night (the quicker ferries stop at 11) I only had 10 minutes. The difference to my state of mind was noticable to myself and others I think. Because I'd worked all those extra hours my boss once again told me to go out for a meal and charge it to the company. (Up to a certain value). When out shopping on saurday to get me out of the house, then in the evening my parents called as they were over this way. I suggested I take them out for a meal, so on Saturday night we had an excellent Thai meal, then relaxed back at the flat with Ben and Jerrys.
Slept a lot Sunday to try and catch up some, but didn't really sleep well that night. Things on my mind. Worried about work (stupidly) but also my mum had spoken to me about the flat that had put things on my mind.
Basically my sister bought her flat when she was single and it was ideal for her then. It's a great position, a really nice sizable flat. However, she's now got married and wanting to start a family eventually, so they're looking for somewhere bigger that can be 'theirs' rather than 'hers'. So basically they'll be putting their flat on the market.
Unless I decide to buy it first.
Few problems with this plan - one, I have no money. I'll get a mortgage, hopefully a 100 percent one that will mean I won't have to borrow money. I doubt I'll have too many problems getting a mortgage. I'm a decent age, have an acceptable wage. The only thing is I have no savings at all. My folks have said they'd be happy to lend me whatever's needed to get me started on the property ladder, but with them considering buying a second home in Spain, them being retired with no actual income and me not being the type who likes borrowing money at all, there's basically a few hurdles in the way.
Oe of the major factors is that the flat's going to be expensive - at least £130,000 (about 200,000 dollars at a rough guess). Now, property is expensive here, but I could get somewhere around £100,000 but not so nice or handy for work and home.
Of course, this is all fairly irrelevent until I know a) when and if my sister would be willing to sell to me (which would save her money on agency fees and solicitors etc) and b) if I can get a mortgage.
Even so, it's been on my mind and I've suddenly become aware I need to actually start saving. The mortgage alone is likely to take half my wages each month before anything else like bills. That's a pretty big chunk to consider.
Waking up to the real world I guess.
I'd really like the flat though, I must admit...
