Bought a whole host of stuff at the comic shop yesterday. Treated myself. Yay. :)

Good thing to pick up was Marvel Previews for May. We like. Had a snippet from the script of Joss Weedon's first X-men issue. Amusing enough - looks like the final lineup for his issues has been confirmed. Pretty happy that he's holding onto Scott, Emma, Hank, Logan (big surprise there) and Kitty. Guess he had to wrestle Claremont to get Kitty. Actually I've always thought Kitty was one of Claremont's strongest characters but there you go.

The script gives a couple of hints as to the direction of the new book. Back to spandex for one, justified by the fact they want to look like heroes and the black leather is scaring people off. Bit of a weird justification in my opinion considering it's only Wolverine out of the characters in the book who's had any major costume change. Also Kitty's the team's poster child as the rest of them are too freaky (Emma's freaky? Give me freaky any time then.)

Fight Claremont?

I bet one of the conditions of the deal of Joss Whedon signing was that he got first pick of characters. If he didn't insist on it, Marvel probably offered it anyway. ;).
Anyway, I read an interview where he said having Kitty 'sealed the deal' because he a lot of Kitty went into the creation of the character of Buffy, and he looked forward to writing her.

Yeah, in the intro to Fray he pretty much said Kitty Pryde was the one character who influenced his whole career so I think it was a no-brainer he'd want her. Just think Claremont has always written Kitty pretty well. Still at least she's ending up with a decent writer. Pity poor Bobby. ;)
