Really hope that comes off.

WHAT WHAT? Does this mean Vaughn is going to be writing Ultimate X-men? Damn, could smash the hope that he'll take over on New, but Brian K. on any X-book is always GREAT news.

His Chamber series was great. :D

Bad news is Bendis won't be using Speedball again! "Speedball is dead to him!" *sniff* ;)

I posted in my journal this earlier.. Brian K. Vaughan is writing an single arc of Ultimate X-Men, 46-49, instead of a collaboration between Bendis and Mack. After that, with issue 50, David Mack takes over as the new regular writer.

I knew that was spelt wrong, but blame Bendis! I just copied him. ;)

Damn, he's not staying on the title full time? hmm.

Not sure I've read any David Mack stuff. Any good?

I don't know. From what I've heard, he can be very good, but from all I've seen he should not be allowed to draw and do panel layout of his own work. ;). He's the one responsible for the Echo arc that filled the last few issues of Daredevil.
(Although, in some fairness, I believe that was initially intended as an Echo miniseries, and so could be as 'experimental' as he wanted, and just shoved into the regular book for higher sales).
With Ult X, though, he won't be doing the art, that'll still be David Finch, who's quite good.

Anyway, I'm a bit worried based solely on the last few Daredevil issues, but we'll see.

Yeah, I'm aware of his Daredvil stuff, but I mainly know him as an artist like that. I don't think I've read anything where he's done pure writing.

I didn't mind the Echo arc but yeah, like you say, was more suited for a trade.

Be interesting to see anyway.
