angelophile: (Doctor Who - Jelly Baby)

I saw my first mullet in years. Not only that but it was a two-tone mullet, with blonde highlights as if the guy wanted to draw attention to it. It looked like someone had set about the top part with shears, so apparently they hated it too. He looked impressively like this guy. Who knew we got rednecks in this country?

I saw a cute girl. Not beautiful but cute with a face full of charm and character. The kind of lived-in features I love. I smiled at her, she smiled at me and I doubt I'll ever see her again.

I discovered John Barrowman has had to apologize for getting his cock out in an inteview. Subtle.

Speaking of which, I've been reading a bunch of Doctor Who spin-off novels recently, which I got in a boxed set. Currently reading Only Human, which is by far and away the best of the bunch I've read so far and, coincidentally, Captain Jack creates a distraction by streaking through a hospital. And a neanderthal's favourite TV show is Are You Being Served?

Also watched a little more of the classic Who serial Battlefield with my coffee. Featuring the seventh Doctor and Brigadier Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart and his replacement Brigadier Winifred Bambera, Ace blowing up an archaeological dig, the return of Bessie and the revelation that the Doctor will eventually swan around Arthurian England as Merlin. Which is a story I want to see told almost as much as the one with Queen Elizabeth and the one with Charlemagne being kidnapped by an insane computer.

And also speaking of which, Paul Cornell's original novel version of the Doctor Who story Human Nature is available to download from the BBC site. They have others too, including Mark Gatiss' Nightshade.

Porn week again at [livejournal.com profile] scans_daily and this one broke my brain.

I still miss U-Go Girl. Damn you, Peter Milligan, for creating a character I love and then breaking my heart killing her off. And Darwyn Cooke rocks.

It's goddam cold today.
