It's all me, me, me

Survived deadline, as usual, and nothing too horrific about it, although as usual I'm exhausted and stressed, but I'll get over all that.
Just sat, half zoned out, listening to Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine's version of The Impossible Dream.
Pretty much did nothing today. Took down my christmas decorations, then fell asleep. Woke up and realised I was late going round my sister's to give my neice her borthday present, and I was supposed to be picking up chinese, and by the time I got there I didn't see her because she was being settled for bed. Had a nice evening anyway, just zoned out with chinese and watched "The Devil Wears Prada", which was predictable tosh with a questionable message (it's okay to commit adultery if you -learn- from the experience), but raised above the norm by some excellent performances.
Kudos to Meryl Streep, I normally can't stand her, but she was very good here, as was Stanley Tucci. Hard to really enjoy a movie where you can't stand any of the characters, even the supposedly sympathetic lead, but it was well performed, so can't be faulted there. If there'd been more lines like "I'm on this new diet from Paris. I don't eat anything... and then when I feel like I'm about to faint, I eat a cube of cheese. I'm one stomach flu away from reaching my goal weight." I'd have been happier, but sadly that was the best of the bunch and I suspect a lot of the bitchy asides went over my head, since they seemed to mostly be about the fashion industry, of which I know nothing.
Still, as a female version of "Swimming With Sharks" it wasn't bad and the camp was enjoyable enough.
Anyway, time for me to go up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire...
