That had me giggling for about five minutes this morning.

Weird Al's Alternative Polka.

It's the sound effects on the bit that covers Closer by Nine Inch Nails that gets me every time.

Please stop raping my brain, Weird Al.

And fresh today:

Oh, and sushi for lunch! Yay!

BOOBIES!

THIS is why Nextwave is the most awesome thing in the history of all awesome things.

angelophile: (A Little Superior)

[livejournal.com profile] bareedy mentioned Common People by Pulp, which immediately made me want to hear the William Shatner version all over again.

So for your listening pleasure I present a couple of tracks by William Shatner.

First up the aforementioned cover of Common People. It should be a car crash. Some people will probably say it is. But Shatner gives it his all in my opinion, and I adore the Shatner delivery. Joe Jackson's the other vocalist. This is the superior single version where Jackson doesn't totally take over.

Then It Hasn't Happened Yet. I genuinely love this song, which is more of a monologue put to haunting music by Ben Folds. I love the tune, the beautiful lyrics, the delivery. Seriously, this is a GOOD song.

Finally, the delightfully mysogonistic In Love, where Shatner sings about the international brotherhood of lying, fickle males. I'm sure most men have felt like this at some point, at their most bitter and twisted. It can't just be me, right?

You thought I was just going to take the piss of Shatner's Beatles covers?
