So, I'm in a good mood today for various reasons. Feeling good and just generally better than I have for a few days.

Good news.

Anyway, a few things going on, there's been some movement on the Transformers movie that has me in a good mood. A couple of weeks ago leaks started to appear about certain things in the script that fans wouldn't be happy about (a terrible version of Soundwave that saw him as a tape deck that DIDN'T size shift, randomly named Decepticon characters, the Matrix renamed as "The Energon Cube", things like that). Although in some respects the movie was starting to look very positive, in other areas it was looking ropey, particularly in terms of the Decepticon cast. We heard that there was to be characters like a Decepticon police car called Brawl, a tank called Devastator, a mine clearer named Bonecrusher. That Bumblebee would be mute. Yep, some pretty messed up stuff for anyone who's a fan of the original.

Anyway, when these leaks came out, there was, understandably, an uproar. With yours truly stuck in the middle.

Because I leaked a lot of it.

Now, I do now think that was the right thing to do. Of course, I'm not gonna say where I got the leaks from, I wouldn't dream of breaking any confidences, but as soon as the fandom's got hold of this info, they've kicked up a stink.

And understandably. Certain ideas are just painful.

Yesterday there was the first sign that things had been heeded as Michael Bay publically came out to...er...explain? claim? that the names that the fandom were kicking up a stink over were just place holders and they aren't going to be using them.

Well, whether this story's true or not (you can probably tell from my tone what I believe), it does mean that fans are probably having an effect on correcting some of the more...er...wacky elements in the script.

So that makes me feel more positive about the progress of the movie and the effect my leaks are having.

hoohah.

And there's also been some more additions to the cast - Rachael (Man Thing) Taylor, Amaury (Prison Break) Nolasco and Tyrese (2 Fast 2 Furious) Gibson join Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Josh Duhamel, Michael Clarke Duncan, Megan Fox, John Turturro, Travis Van Winkle, John Robinson and Bernie Mac in the human cast. Michael Bay has also said that the original voice actors, Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, will be auditioned at least for the roles of Optimus Prime and Megatron, who they voiced in the original series.

Oh, and I updated my DSL to a router and now have 8mbps DSL. Mmmrrr.

And I'm listening to Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run, which always reminds me of Runaways and therefore makes me smile.
