Thanks to everyone who's after me or commented to me about this morning's horrific events. Just to assure everyone, yes, I'm fine and nowhere near London. Neither I or, thankfully, any friends have been involved.

The police have just announced that deaths now stand at 37 and injured at over 700. Incredible, seeing the scenes of devestation, that the figures of those that have died so far are as low as they are. Police are now saying that they don't believe that the numbers of those that died on the scene will rise dramatically.

The emergency services, our leaders, everyone has joined in expressiong their disgust and their resolve. They've also confirmed that this was not an attack to disrupt people's way of lives to convey a message. This was an act of cowardly murder to massacre as many civillians as they possibly could. They weren't aiming at organisations or politicians. Not at leaders or buildings. But ordinary working people of every race, age and religion without discrimination.

Those who have claimed responsibility are saying that "Britain is burning with fear".

They're wrong. No one I've spoken to is frightened. Instead all anyone seems to be feeling is shock and deep sorrow at what has occured. There is no fear, only deep sadness.

The emergency services, already prepared for an eventuality like this, have acted quickly and professionally. The people of London united by their sorrow and shock. The streets full of people walking home in silence.

There seems to be no anger so far, just sadness. But it will come.

And the people that perpetrated this horrific act have lost. With this act they will unite the British people, whatever their colour, race or religion. There will be nothing but discust and condemnation. Whatever message they thought they were getting across, they've lost.

Prior to this event, the diverse cultural make up of this country, and London in particular, has been divided. Al Qaeda had vocal sympathisers and supporters amongst the British public.

That stops now. Whatever happens, those responsible will find they have no friends left in Britain. This is now a country united like never before.

They will not win. They have not won.

The British people have with their courage, dignity and solidarity.
