Looks like two superheroish shows are debuting in the US next fall to try to close the gap of Heroes.

"The Cape", involving a cop who's framed for murder and goes underground, re-emerging by taking on the identity of his son's favorite comic book superhero.

and

"No Ordinary Family", with Michael Chiklis, about a family who suddenly develops super powers.



The other commenter mentioned 4400 from a while back, and while I do enjoy it, it does have some rough spots, sudden changes of plot and completely dropped threads, and it takes time to get into its own, and the general production values (acting, effects) aren't as good as Heroes, so be warned.

I'd say the first season of Heroes is probably better than MOST of the 4400, but the series on the whole is much better than any other season of Heroes.
