The news about S.W.O.R.D. breaks my heart, I've been thoroughly enjoying it! I expected the lower price-point on it last week was an attempt to pick up more sales, would they have the data already to know it didn't work?

I think it probably just started at too low a figure to be workable as an ongoing. Sales were only around 21k, which is well below Marvel's cancellation zone for ongoings usually. It's disappointing, but not unexpected, given the figures and it seems unlikely that any sales boost from that sort of promotion would be enough.

It's a shame, because, minor art quibbles (ie: Beast) aside, it's a great book, packed with character and fun. So, of course, no one bought it. It does confuse me why people would buy, say, Ultimatum, over stuff like this, but I don't think I'll ever understand it. Just have to accept it.

And really, aside from how Hank looks (though i will say he was what brought me into the series to begin with) the art is actually very good, I think!

I've been meaning to post a few pages of the recent issue, I might have to turn it into some kind of plea for folks to give the title a chance. I know it's too late to reverse the cancellation, but if there were some crazy surge of sales toward the end it might at least send some kind of message.
