That's a good point - the sales figures I'm quoting there are for the direct market, through Diamond, for North America only and, you're right, it was book stores they stated were the big winner for the title.

I'm on the fence here. It's true that the book's well below the cancellation zone for standard Marvel ongoings. But there's also the fact that Marvel also publish books well below that level (the Marvel Adventures stuff) that are ongoings, presumably because they're looking at the digests for those too. It's kind of a unique case, but the long time since the last digests (and also since any awards and great word of mouth) do seem to have seen dwindling returns.

I think it may have more longevity than you're thinking - I think Immonen will be given a fair crack of the whip and be safe until issue 24 or so, but after that, I wonder. Mini-events do seem to be the likely course, although I do have a suspicion that Marvel will be courting BKV to come back and pick up the characters again in some form or another.
