Imagine if there was a lost song from South Pacific. Imagine that song dealt with a lone soldier pouring out his heart about indoctrination into manhood when he was dragged along to a brothel and forced to perform with a lady of the night. Then imagine it to the tune of a jaunty tango. Then imagine that they couldn't find a trained singer to perform the number and instead dragged a crazed Scottish lunatic off the street. Imagine lyrics by French songwriter Jaques Brel (who also wrote for Bowie) like "I swear on the wet head, of my first case of gonorrhea..."

Brel was Belgian and died in 78. Two songs sung by Bowie are actualy covers. "La mort" was witten in 58
