Yes, I've been drinking...
Had a mellow evening, with an Indian meal, a good bottle of wine and a dvd of Down with Love, which I'd never seen before, picked up for a couple of quid and thoroughly enjoyed. Entertainingly daft and proves again what a great comic timing Ewan McGregor has when he's let loose. Occasionally it skirted a little too close to being too self-reverential and knowing, but with its appealing actors and amusingly period sets, costumes, witty dialogue and evocative background music with just a touch of smut chucked it, it was the kinda of chick flick meets Austin Powers that works as either a parody or tribute to wacky sixties comedies.
And honestly, any movie that makes me crack out my copy of Frank Sinatra's Songs for Swingin' Lovers! and has me singing along while swanning around the house, glass of wine in hand while still not being gay can't be bad.
It's the kind of movie that does make me bloody camp though.
But I'm English, it's allowed.
